SAHRC assists Mpianzi family as they prepare for legal action
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
The South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) says the family wants everyone involved in the death of Enoch Mpianzi to face criminal charges.
On Monday the commission announced that they will provide legal support to the family of the Parktown Boys’ High School pupil, who died during a school orientation camp for grade 8 pupils.
The 13-year-old went missing during the school's Grade 8 orientation camp in Brits, North West on Wednesday.
It is believed that he had been taking part in a river rafting activity on the Crocodile River at the time of his disappearance.

The body was eventually recovered on Friday some 3 kilometres from the site of the activity.
The commission’s Buang Jones says they will pursue legal action against the school and the Gauteng education department.
"We still have to ascertain the roles of individuals within the school and also the role of the campsite where the learners were camping. So, for now, the focus is on establishing who those role players are, but we have obtained instructions to seek legal recourse.”
Jones says the family would like to settle out of court but are willing to go to litigation.
"Litigation will be the last resort we are hopeful that there will be an amicable settlement, but the family still wants those responsible to be criminally prosecuted for their role in the death of Enoch.”
