SANCO: DA, AfriForum working together to discredit ANC leaders
The South African National Civic Organisation (SANCO) says the charges brought by AfriForum against National Assembly Speaker, Thandi Modise, are 'concocted and have a racist political agenda.'
SANCO Chairperson in the North West, Paul Sebegoe, says AfriForum seeks to vilify Modise as an irresponsible individual.
"They could not take into consideration the remorse expressed by comrade Thandi, but instead they are hell-bent to project her negatively and erase her role in the history of the liberation struggle," says Sebegoe.
The National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (NSPCA) charged Modise in 2014 for the death of animals found dead or neglected on her Modderfontein farm in the North West.
According to the NSPCA, the farm was littered with the carcasses of more than 50 pigs and other animals, while more than 100 pigs, sheep, chickens and goats were found without food or water.
Sebegoei adds AfriForum is a wing of the Democratic Alliance (DA) that is pushing a political agenda to weaken the African National Congress (ANC) by discrediting its senior leaders.
