SANDF slams ‘propaganda’ videos on social media

The South African National Defence Force (SANDF) has strongly condemned the circulation of what it describes as 'propaganda' videos on social media, meant to spread misleading content about the force.

The SANDF stated that these videos aim to portray them as a disorganized and undisciplined military, intending to undermine the morale of their dedicated professionals.

In one of the videos, the border between South Africa and Eswatini can be seen wide open, with no sign of law enforcement.

The National Defence Force has added that those distributing these videos are engaged in a propaganda campaign designed to sow doubt among the South African public and within the SANDF itself.

In a statement, the SANDF reaffirmed its commitment to fulfilling its mandate with professionalism and integrity, noting that its operational capabilities and equipment remain of the highest standard.

“We categorically condemn those behind such nefarious intent of destroying the reputation of the SANDF,” said SANDF spokesperson, Prince Tshabalala.

“We call on the South African public, especially the SANDF members, not to fall for the deceptive propaganda circulating on social media.”

The SANDF also emphasized that they will not allow the morale of their soldiers to be affected by these malicious acts.

“The SANDF stands united and will continue to serve our country with honour and unwavering commitment,” the statement concluded.
