#SandtonShutdown brings the Sandton CBD to a standstill

Large groups of mostly women started gathering in the
vicinity of the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in the early hours of Friday
morning - for their sit-in.

Several streets in Sandton set to be closed on Friday
Thousands of protestors are expected to march to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) to hand in a memorandum to the company executives following several high-profile incidents femicide. Metro police spokesperson Wayne Minnaar urges motorists to use alternative routes around the area.
They are protesting the increase in gender-based violence and the murder of women.
