The South African Police Services are investigating an on-duty police officer for the personal use of a state vehicle over the festive season.

In a video that has made rounds on social media, the on-duty police officer is seen buying grain for his personal use.
Police spokesperson Athlenda Mathe says preliminary investigations have revealed that the member is a sergeant attached to the Durban Harbour.
"The SAPS views such action in a serious light and assures members of the public that resources such as state vehicles are there to ensure optimal running and functioning of the service and to service our communities".
