SARS central Joburg branch reopens after basement blaze
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has reopened its Rissik Street branch in central Johannesburg after it was forced to close due to a fire.
The fire, which ripped through the basement of the Marshalltown building in September, caused extensive damage.
The cause of the fire is yet to be established.
"The office was cleared for reopening by both the Departments of Public Works and of Labour after a thorough inspection to ensure that it was safe to be used for its primary purpose,” SARS said in a statement on Tuesday.
