SA’s Covid-19 cases climb to over 700 000

The amount of Covid-19 cases in South Africa has risen to
700 203.
Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize, says in his latest report that more than 2 000 new cases were reported in the 24 hours leading up to Friday evening.
A further 61 deaths were also recorded: 14 from Eastern Cape, 21 from the Free State, 11 from KwaZulu Natal, 4 from Gauteng and 11 from Northern Cape.
Mkhize’s report confirms that the total of Covid-19 related deaths has now increased to 18 370.
Of the 61 deaths reported, 5 were confirmed in the 24 to 28 hours up to Friday evening.
Three of these fatalities were in Gauteng and the other two reported from the Free State.
