SA’s Covid-19 recovery rate slips further as country gets back to work

Many South Africans will return to work on Monday amid the news that the country cumulative number of Covid-19 cases stands at 1 231 597.
This follows another 17 421 new infections.
The latest report by Health Minister Zweli Mkhize, shows a continued downward spiral of the recovery rate, which now stands 78,4%.

In his latest report on Sunday evening, Mkhize said a further 339 Covid-related deaths had also been reported.
"Eastern Cape 77, Free State 19, Gauteng 28, KwaZulu-Natal 71, Limpopo 14, Mpumalanga 10, Northern Cape 7 and Western Cape 113.
"This brings the total deaths to 33 163," Mkhize said.
