SASSA CEO packs his bags

The South African Social Security Agency has parted ways with its CEO, Thokozani Magwaza.
The Department of Social Development confirmed this in a statement released earlier on Monday.
"The Minister of Social Development, Ms Bathabile Dlamini and the CEO of SASSA, Mr Thokozani Magwaza, have agreed to terminate the services of the latter after a consultative process led by the head of legal services, Advocate Nkosinathi Dladla, in terms of the provisions of his contract of employment," the statement reads.
Dlamini has thanked Magwaza for his work and wished him well for the future.

Magwaza was very vocal about the SASSA grant payment debacle earlier this year, describing it as embarrassing at the time.
Following the Constitutional Court Judgement extending the contract between SASSA and Cash Paymaster Services (CPS) for a year, Magwaza said the only good thing was that beneficiaries would be paid their money.
He said the chaos and confusion should have never happened.
