The South African Weather Services has warned of continued heavy rainfall on Monday evening into Tuesday.
Rain is expected in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and Limpopo.
Recent heavy downpours wreaked havoc in parts of Gauteng, leading to flooded roads on the N3 highway.
Forecaster Mbavhi Maliage says the rain is expected to last until Thursday.
"We are expecting that heavy rain to continue this evening (Monday) to tomorrow morning (Tuesday), and then it is expected to subside. However, going further into the week, there is a possibility of some more rainfall that is expected, mainly over Limpopo, Mpumalanga and some places over Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal.
"There is a possibility that some rainfall is expected as we go further into the week on Wednesday and Thursday."
The weather service has issued a yellow level 2 warning for disruptive rainfall in KwaZulu-Natal.
