Schoolboy shooting case continues
The case against two men accused of killing Cape Town schoolboy Glenric Martin resumes in the Western Cape High Court on Friday.
Wilston Stoffels, 18, and Jevon Snyman, 19, previously abandoned heir bail applications.
Their previous appearance was on February 28 for a pre-trial conference before Judge President John Hlophe, following the death of Martin.
Riaan Odendaal, for Stoffels, said at the time there was a possible plea bargain on the table.
"In principle, we've reached an agreement in terms of section 105A [of the Criminal Procedure Act]. I'm confident we'll be able to finalise it today [Friday]."
Martin, 18, was shot in May while entering the Spes Bona High School premises in Athlone.
Captain Frederick van Wyk said at the time that three men -- two of them armed -- wearing school tracksuit tops approached Martin.
One of them shot him in the head.
Paramedics revived him and took him to the Groote Schuur Hospital. He died soon after arrival.
Snyman was arrested in Athlone a day after the shooting.
Stoffels was arrested in Bonteheuwel the following day.
