The Committee is seeking answers to apparent billions being misspent at the public broadcaster.

Committee chairperson Themba Godi says the meeting was planned last year.

“The SABC’s wasteful expenditure amounts to billions. We decided on this last year as part of our normal programme. We have already met with other departments.” says Godi

Godi acknowledges that the public broadcaster has had to deal with several challenges.

“ Our main concern as SCOPA is the financial management and administration which are deteriorating.” he says.

Meanwhile Parliaments' ad hoc committee investigating the issues at the SABC has recommended President Jacob Zuma consider firing Communications Minister Faith Muthambi.
