14 killed, scores hurt as Shosholoza train derails

Reports from the scene say the train derailed after colliding with a truck and a car.
Fourteen people have so far been confirmed dead and scores injured after a Shosholoza Meyl train crashed into a truck and a car, derailed and burst into flames.
The collision occurred near the Geneva train station between Kroonstad and Hennenman in the Free State on Thursday.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring says the injuries range from minor to serious.
"Paramedics from various services are attending to the injuries and transporting them to hospital," says Netcare911's Tebogo Magoto.
The exact cause of the collision is yet to be confirmed, but authorities on scene will investigate the matter.
