Hawks spokesperson Katlego Mogale says the warrants were issued by the High Court in Pretoria.

“The North Gauteng High Court has issued warrants for the arrest of fugitives Mr Shepherd Bushiri and Ms Mary Bushiri who broke bail conditions and fled to Malawi several days ago.

“The High Court issued the warrants on Tuesday.”

The case has been postponed to December 1 for a formal withdrawal of bail and forfeiture of the bail deposit.

The Bushiris were earlier granted bail by the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court in their fraud and money laundering case, but fled to their native country Malawi last week.

At the time of their disappearance the Bushiris had posted bail of R200 000 each and were required to regularly present themselves to authorities as part of complying with their bail conditions.
