Security guard injured during Cradlestone Mall robbery
A security guard is recovering in hospital after he sustained moderate injuries during an attempted robbery at the Cradlestone Mall in Krugersdorp this afternoon.
Police confirmed the incident but were unable to say whether the suspects managed to get away with anything.
ER24 says when paramedics arrived on scene they found the security guard standing next to a shop in the mall.
"It is believed that he was hit over the head with an unknown object by a suspect. He was transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care," says ER24 spokesperson Ineke van Huyssteen.
She explains a number of mall goers also received treatment for shock, while a pregnant woman was assessed and transported to hospital.
Police were on the scene to investigate the matter.
