Security guard killed in botched Joburg robbery

Police have
confirmed the death of a security guard during a botched robbery in Fordsburg, Johannesburg on Friday.
According to provincial spokesperson, Kay Makhubele, the guard was responding to a robbery at the Dragon City Mall.
A woman is said to have screamed when five men accosted her, calling for the guard to assist.
"When she screamed, the security guard responded towards the screaming. When they responded they were shot at. One security guard was shot and killed."
The suspects made off and a chase ensued.
Police patrolling the area were able to catch up to the suspects at a house in Turfontein.
"During the arrest, they found that the suspects had five unlicensed firearms, three rifles, including two AK-47s and two pistols."
The owner of the house was also arrested, bringing the total number of arrests to six.
The suspects are due to appear at the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court on charges of murder, attempted robbery and possession of unlicensed firearms.
