Security officer found burnt at Rea Vaya station

A Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) security officer stationed at the Rea Vaya bus station in Soweto has been found dead at his workplace.
JMPD spokesperson Xolani Fihla says he was found on Friday morning.
“Dumisani Tani reporter for Duty at the Klipspruit Valley Road in Soweto on Thursday night. At approximately 4:50 am on Friday morning a colleague arrives to relieve Tani from his duties and to open the station. The colleague was surprised to see the station quiet,”.

“When he checked in the toilet he found Tani burnt and nonresponsive. Gauteng Emergency Medical Services Paramedics were called and declared Tani dead on the scene,” said Fihla.
An inquest docket has been opened at the Moroka police station to determine the actual cause of death.
