Serial rapist to spend life behind bars
Updated | By Nathan Daniels
Gauteng government says convicted serial rapist Lebogang Mokoena should never see the light of day again.

Mokoena was hit with 13 life sentences and 340 additional years by the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court on Thursday.
The sentences will run concurrently.
In October, the serial taxi rapist was found guilty of 13 counts of rape, kidnapping, robbery with aggravating circumstances, pointing an object with the intention for it to be a firearm, aiding and abetting someone to commit an offence and one of sexual assault.
Social Development MEC Nandi Mayathula-Khoza believes the harsh sentence will serve as a deterrent.
“Gender-based violence has no place in society and we celebrate every time when a perpetrator faces the full might of the law.”
Mokoena targeted women for 13 months before he was nabbed by police last year.
“We celebrate with those who survived the brutal attacks,” says Mayathula-Khoza.
