Limpopo police have arrested seven suspected illegal miners in Driekop outside Burgesfort.
The suspects were nabbed on Saturday.
Police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo says the miners were found with 17 generators, seven jackhammers and three electric cables.
"The suspects are one South African, three Mozambicans and three Zimbabweans and were apprehended while illegally mining chrome at Mooihoek mountain after police pounced on them.
"The arrested suspects will appear in Mecklenburg Magistrate's Court on Monday, facing charges related to illegal mining. Additional charges under the Immigration Act will be preferred against undocumented foreign nationals."
The arrests come a week after eight illegal miners were killed following a mudslide in Burgersfort.
