Police in KwaZulu-Natal are investigating the killing of seven men at a home in KwaMakhutha, south of Durban.
National police spokesperson Jay Naicker says residents from the community of Masaweni heard gunshots ring out in the early evening.
A group of people then went to investigate at one of the homesteads.
They found the bodies of seven men, aged between 21 and 36 in one of the rooms of the homestead.
The seven men sustained gunshot wounds to the head.
Police were then called out and members of the serious and violent crimes unit from provincial headquarters attended to the scene.
The motive of the killing is still unknown at this early stage of the investigation.
