The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has issued a warning of severe thunderstorms with possible localised flooding in places of Gauteng on Thursday.

Forecaster, Venisha Phakula, says other provinces which can experience similar weather include Mpumalanga, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal and the extreme eastern parts of the Eastern Cape.
The Weather Service has predicted a 60% chance of thunderstorms for the whole of Thursday.

However, Phakula says further predictions show that the rainy weather will not continue into the weekend.
"For the weekend we are no expecting much rain in Gauteng and for Saturday we are not expecting any rain and we might see a small chance on Sunday."
