WARNINGS:

1. Heavy rainfall leading to localized flooding is expected over the

   central and eastern parts of North West, northern and north-eastern

   parts of Free State, Gauteng, Highveld and southern Escarpment of 

   Mpumalanga, southern and south-western parts of Limpopo, as well as 

   western and central parts of KwaZulu-Natal.

2. Severe thunderstorms are expected over the western parts of 

   North-West and north-eastern parts of Northern Cape, as well as

   western and southern parts of Free State.


SPECIAL WEATHER ADVISORIES:

---------------------------

1. A heat wave with persistently high temperatures is expected in

   places over the western interior of the Northern Cape, West Coast

   District, Cape Metropole and the Cape Winelands from Wednesday

   into Friday.

2. Extremely hot conditions are expected in places over the western

   interior of the Northern Cape, West Coast District and Cape

   Winelands of the Western Cape on Wednesday, persisting into

   Thursday and Friday.

Limpopo: Partly cloudy and warm but hot in the Limpopo Valley with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers, but widespread in the south-west where cloudy conditions are expected.

Free State: Warm in the extreme west, otherwise cloudy and cool with isolated to scattered showers and thundershowers, but widespread in the north and north-east where it will be cold in places.

Northern Cape: Morning fog patches along the coast, otherwise fine and warm to hot, but partly cloudy in the east and north-east with isolated showers and thundershowers but scattered in the extreme north-east.

The wind along the coast will be fresh south-westerly to southerly.

Western Cape: Very hot in places over the western interior, otherwise fine and warm to hot, but partly cloudy and cool along the south-coast where it will be cloudy at first with fog patches. The wind along the coast will be strong south-easterly in the west and south-west but moderate in the south.

Eastern Cape: Cloudy and cool south of Darlington Dam, otherwise partly cloudy and warm. Light isolated shopwers are expected along the coast, west of Cape St Francis from late afternoon. The wind along the coast will be fresh to strong easterly.
