Lesufi visited the Randfontein school on Monday amid claims of racism.

Parents protested outside the school on Monday, saying there is a group of white pupils at the school who are terrorising black kids.

Additional sexual harassment claims charges has since emerged from pupils and parents.

Some parents told the MEC that they have reported both sexual harassment and racism for years and nothing has happened.

“There is a teacher here, he harasses female learners in this school, and nothing is being done. There are emails to show that I have been reporting him for over three years and nothing is being done. He is busy telling kids that they ‘make him horny’, and he want to see them in jeans, can they visit him at his school,” said one of the parents.

“We have been reporting the matter and they have done nothing about it, we have been complaining about the racism, the sexual harassment and the school governing body has done absolutely nothing. We need to see active responses, they must do something about it.”

Lesufi says the department will attend to the allegations immediately.

“What worries me, which was not part of the road map, are accusations of sexual harassment. I think we listened to that, it is something that is new and that one can’t wait.

“I have asked the MEC for Social Development to intervene and bring our social workers here, let's take statement. But I’ll speak to the educators now and those that are implicated I’ll advice that they must not even come to school tomorrow until the matter is resolved. Children can’t bring the matter to me and see the same person at school tomorrow, it doesn’t work that way.”
