The former minister was detained over a terror list.
Businessman and former Human Settlement Minister Tokyo Sexwale was briefly detained at John F. Kennedy International Airport over a terror list on 21st October.
Sexwale's lawyer Lesley Mkhabela says that they have sent questions to US ambassador and are waiting for answers as to why his clients name is still on the list.
"We have corresponded with the US ambassador and are still waiting for answers" said Mkhabela
Mkhabela says they have not given an ultimatum to the embassy but hope that the situation will be treated with the necessary urgency it deserves.
Former struggle activists were banned from visiting America during apartheid. The ban has since been lifted but according to Mkhabela not all names have been removed from the list.
