Sharp fuel price hike on the cards
Motorists have been warned to brace themselves for a fuel price increase.
The Automobile Association is predicting a sharp price increase for September.
AA spokesperson Layton Beard say motorists could be forking out as much as 61 cents more a litre for fuel.
"In the middle of August, the AA predicted by a hefty increase and that prediction is unfortunately coming true due to the rand/US dollar exchange rate and in this case more importantly, the increase in international petroleum prices," he says.
Beard says petrol users can expect to pay 61 cents more per litre.
"If international petroleum prices continue to increase, we could unfortunately see fuel price increases in the next couple of months as well."
There was a fuel price hike in August.
Both grades of petrol cost 19 cents more a litre, while diesel cost 30 cents more a litre.
