Shock as Reiger Park principal is implicated in sex videos
An East Rand principal is in hot water after video footage emerged of him engaging in several sexual acts with pupils at the school.
The videos and images are circulating on social media, and show the principal in compromising positions with girls in his office.
Gauteng MEC for Education, Panyaza Lesufi, has expressed his disappointment and disgust.
Department officials and psychologists will visit the school on Monday.
Spokesperson Steve Mabona says the principal resigned in October 2017 but the footage only emerged last week.
The principal has since been reported to the South African Council of Educators (SACE) and could be struck off the roll.
"The disturbing part is that most of this activities was happening at the school, in his office. We are very much disappointed. Our learners are supposed to be protected."
Mabona says the department will speak to the affected pupils and their parents, and that the principle is facing possible criminal charges.
