5 injured, 4 arrested during shooting at new Springs Mall

Three people have been shot and injured during a shooting at the opening of the Springs Mall.

The victims include two police officers. Two others, including a pregnant woman, was injured during the commotion.
Ekuruleni emergency services spokesperson William Ntladi says a member of the public was shot in the stomach.
“One police officer was shot on the shoulder and airlifted to hospital, the other officer was shot in the hand. A member of the public was shot on her lower abdomen cavity,” Ntladi says.
He says the pregnant woman was injured when she fell to the ground.
“Two other patients, one is a pregnant woman who fell during the shooting and got injured,” he says.
Ntladi says four suspects have been arrested.

Police are yet to confirm what led to the shooting.
