Shoplifting case against NW commercial crimes head postponed

The case against the head of Special Commercial Crimes Unit in the North West has been postponed until June.

Fifty-three-year-old Jeanette Nevelling is being accused of shoplifting at a shop at The Crossing Shopping Mall in Mmabatho.

 

Nevelling has since been suspended.

"Nevelling was arrested on 16 Feb 2021 on allegation of shoplifting at a retail shop at The Crossing Shopping Mall in Mmabatho.

 

"She has since been suspended by the NPA pending internal disciplinary proceedings. 

 

"Her R500 bail has been extended until her next court appearance,” said the NPA in North West’s Henry Mometheme. 

 

The matter has been postponed until 21 June for further investigations.
