Shots fired during Menlyn robbery

Suspects entered the shopping centre late on Monday afternoon.

A group of armed suspects managed to flee with an undisclosed number of Rolex watches after they robbed The Vault shop in Menlyn Park shopping centre.
Police say the suspects entered the shopping centre after 18:00 on Monday evening and "smashed the window out with a hammer".
The suspects fired shots as they were fleeing the shopping centre.
"As the suspects fled the mall in a white BMW, they fired shots at security officers when they tried to stop them," explains the police's Colette Weilbach.
No one was injured during the incident.
A manhunt has been launched for the group and police are also investigating a case of business robbery.
Weilbach further dismissed social media claims of a hostage situation, confirming that the centre was open for business.
