The Special Investigating Unit on Tuesday announced the appointment of Advocate Ntuthuzelo Vanara as its chief legal counsel.

His appointment is effective from 1 August.
"Vanara brings a wealth of experience and expertise of more than 23 years in the legal fraternity," said SIU spokesperson Kaizer Kganyago.
Vanara previously led evidence in Parliament’s inquiries into the SABC and state capture at Eskom.
He also served as Parliament’s acting registrar of Members’ Interests, and accused ANC MP Bongani Bongo of trying to bribe him.
Vanara also served as the South African Broadcasting Corporation’s head of legal affairs.
