Emergency services in KwaZulu-Natal have now confirmed six high school learners were killed in a collission involving two taxis in KwaZulu-Natal yesterday.

The taxis reportedly collided head-on in the Dalton area roughly 55km outside of Pietermaritzburg.
When emergency services arrived on scene yesterday afternoon, they found both vehicles had sustained significant damage.
"Reports from the scene allege that two minibus taxi’s had been involved in a head-on collision, one of the vehicle was transporting learners from different schools. The other vehicle overturned and caught fire," reads a statement by Netcare911.
Emergency Medical Service's Robert Mckenzie says roughly 20 patients, mostly teenagers, were treated at the scene before being transported to various hospitals.
The cause of the colission is still unknown but authorities have launched an investigation.
