The suspects are linked to a spate of house and business robberies, as well as murder and carjacking.
KZN police spokesperson Jay Naicker says the arrested suspects will appear in court soon.
"Two rifles and a shotgun were found in the possession of the suspects, as well as a vehicle which was hijacked at KwaDabeka in December 2023.
"After the shootout, six suspects were found to have suffered fatal gunshot wounds and three more suspects, two men and a 31-year-old woman, were arrested.
"One police officer was grazed with a bullet on the hand.”
