Sixteen more people indicted in FIFA scandal

The United States said Thursday it has indicted 16 more people, all current or former soccer officials from Latin America, in the massive FIFA corruption scandal.

Here are the 16 new defendants:


Alfredo Hawit: FIFA vice president, CONCACAF president and 64-year-old Honduran citizen. Arrested in Zurich on Thursday.


Juan Angel Napout: FIFA vice president and CONMEBOL president. Aged 57 from Paraguay. Arrested in Zurich on Thursday.


The other 14 are:


Ariel Alvarado: Member of the FIFA disciplinary committee. Former CONCACAF executive committee member. Aged 56 from Panama.


Manuel Burga: Current member of the FIFA development committee. Former Peruvian soccer federation president. Aged 58.


Rafael Callejas: Current member of the FIFA television and marketing committee. Honduran citizen, aged 72.


Carlos Chavez: Current CONMEBOL treasurer. Former Bolivian soccer federation president. Aged 57.


Luis Chiriboga: Current Ecuadoran soccer federation president and member of the CONMEBOL executive committee. Aged 69.


Marco Polo del Nero: Current president of the Brazilian soccer federation, who announced his resignation from the FIFA executive committee last week. Aged 74.


Eduardo Deluca: Former CONMEBOL general secretary. Aged 75 from Argentina.


Brayan Jimenez: Current Guatemalan soccer federation president and member of the FIFA committee for fair play and social responsibility. Aged 61.


Jose Luis Meiszner: Current CONMEBOL general secretary. Aged 69 from Argentina.


Romer Osuna: Current member of the FIFA audit and compliance committee. Former CONMEBOL treasurer. Aged 72 from Bolivia.


Rafael Salguero: Former FIFA executive committee member and Guatemalan soccer federation president. Aged 70.


Ricardo Teixeira: Former Brazilian soccer federation president and FIFA executive committee member. Aged 68.


Hector Trujillo: Current Guatemalan soccer federation general secretary and judge on the constitutional court of Guatemala. Aged 62.


Reynaldo Vasquez: Former Salvadoran soccer federation president. Aged 59.
