Slight increase in new hospital admissions for Covid-19

The number of people admitted across the country’s hospitals for Covid-19 has shown a slight increase, with 58 more people sent to health facilities for related treatment.
There is a total of 5 252 patients in hospitals admitted for Covid-19 related complications.
This includes 2 221 patients in private healthcare facilities while 3 031 are receiving treatment in public health facilities.
Statistics released by the National Institute of Communicable Diseases (NICD) on Tuesday have also shown a further increase of Covid-19 cases.

A total of 592 new cases were recorded over the latest 24-hour cycle, bringing the total number of cases to 2,912,938.
The increase represents a 2.1% positivity rate.
Covid-19 related deaths have also increased by 83.
The total number of Covid-19 fatalities now stands at 88 429.
A total of 27,929 tests were conducted in the last 24hrs with 592 new cases, which represents a 2.1% positivity rate. A further 83 #COVID19 related deaths have been reported, bringing total fatalities to 88,429 to date.
