Slight increase in petrol price
Updated | By Jacaranda FM news
Motorists will pay 5c a litre more for petrol in September, the Department of Energy confirmed on Monday.
The department’s spokesperson Robert Maake says the slight increase will cater for the annual salary increase of petrol station workers.
The price of diesel and illuminating paraffin will remain unchanged.
"Either than that, everything else will remain the same this month, whether its paraffin, LP gas or diesel the price will remain the same as last month", adds Maake.

The department of Energy says consecutive fuel price increases led to a decision to intervene.
"South Africa has witnessed sustained increases in fuel prices for the past few months, which placed a strain on the consumers.
"Despite the fact that these increases were caused mainly by international factors, the department has decided to intervene temporarily for this month. This is a once off temporary intervention to provide some relief to motorists and consumers against fuel price hikes," he adds.
