But with the cold front moving away, Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo will once again start warming up.

South African Weather Service forecaster Mbabi Madiake says temperatures will get slightly warmer from Monday.

“This weekend was a pretty chilly weekend, especially for places in Gauteng, Mpumalanga and Limpopo, But as we move into the week we are expecting temperatures to warm slightly for tomorrow.

“For Gauteng temperatures will range between 19 and 21 and also for Mpumalanga temperatures are expecting to be warmer, especially in the lowveld region, where temperatures are expecting to be between 27 and 28. Limpopo as well is expected to warm up except for the central parts of Polokwane temperatures are still expected to remain cool there.”

Madiake says while temperatures will increase during the week, Mpumalanga can expect a slight dip by Wednesday.

“As we go into Tuesday, we are expecting temperatures to warm up but then on Wednesday are expected to slightly cool down, especially over the Mpumalanga province. Nothing too drastic, temperatures are expected to cool down by 1 or 2 degrees. But for the rest of week temps are expected to be low, not what we expected this past weekend.”
