Soccer kits stolen in Tzaneen school robbery

Soccer kits worth R6000 have bee stolen from a Limpopo school over the weekend.

“The police were called and during investigation it was discovered that the perpetrators broke the locks and chains on the doors to gain access to the storeroom,” says Limpopo police spokesperson Motlalefa Mojapelo.

 

“The suspects managed to steal boys soccer kits that are navy and powder blue in colour, thirteen pairs of soccer boots and two soccer balls.”

Thirteen suspects have been arrested in Mankweng in connection with various burglaries at schools since the start of the lockdown.

 

“Police arrested seven suspects in the Mankweng Cluster on Monday for allegedly breaking into school premises and houses in Sekgosese and Sebayeng areas,” Mojapelo says.

 

“Five suspects were previously arrested in Maake policing area while one has been arrested in Northam.”

 

More than 400 schools have been broken into and vandalised around the country since the start of the coronavirus lockdown.
