She and her twin brother were allegedly lured to Gauteng, under the false pretence of being enrolled at a medical school.

Mpumalanga police spokesperson Leonard Hlathi says the girl's twin brother alleges they were drugged, raped and assaulted.

"A case of kidnapping, rape and common assault is under investigation, after a 19-year-old woke up in hospital after an ordeal that he and other youths experienced.

"The 19-year-old told police he and his sister saw an advert on social media in February‚ calling on people who were good at mathematics to apply for a medical school in Johannesburg‚" Hlathi explains.

It's believed the man posing as the owner of the medical school bough bus tickets for the teenagers to travel from Kroonstad to Johannesburg, as they could not afford to pay for themselves.

Police are following all leads in an attempt to trace the missing teen.
