Solidarity members want to shut down Sandton CBD
Updated | By Neo Motloung
Sasol workers affiliated to Solidarity are expected to march to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and the head office of Sasol on Thursday morning.
Solidarity spokesperson, Francois Redelinghuys says the protest will start at 10am and members will be bussed in from other parts of the country.
Redelinghuys says members, who are white workers, are unhappy with their exclusion from Sasol's Khanyisa employee share ownership plan.
"They are excluding Sasol workers based on the fact that they are while and we believe that this is against the constitution because it is an exclusion based on race," says Redelinghuys.
Redelinghuys adds members of the public have also been invited to join Solidarity in the march.
"It will be an orderly march, bet we will shut down Sandton for this voice that is not being heard to be heard worldwide."
