Solidarity to pursue criminal charges against Molefe
Updated | By Sinethemba Madolo
Trade union Solidarity
says it will be pursuing criminal charges
against Eskom’s former CEO, Brian Molefe.

This comes after the High Court in Pretoria ordered Molefe to pay back the pension payout he received from the power utility within 10 days.
The court ordered Molefe to pay back R11 million he received as part of his pension payout.
Solidarity's Dirk Herman says the judgment was not for the benefit of Solidarity, but for justice and the taxpayer.
Herman says it is a pity that high-ranking officials head to court to defend their unlawful actions.
He says although this is a great victory, this isn't the end of the road.
Herman says the Hawks will be investigating possible criminal charges against Molefe.
He adds that Solidarity will, within the next two weeks, handover representations to the Hawks that will give substance to the case, focusing on allegations of fraud.

The ANC has welcomed the judgment.
ANC spokesperson, Zizi Kodwa, says it is the affirmation what the party has been saying since Molefe’s reinstatement.
Kodwa says the ruling party has been vindicated.
