The mayor addressed media ahead of the #HandOffMsimanga rally.

Msimanga will face a motion of no confidence brought by the African National Congress (ANC) and the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF).

“You will still be talking to me as the mayor of the city tomorrow morning.

“But I can tell you that Solly Msimanga will still be the mayor of the city tomorrow morning,” said Msimanga.

A jovial Msimanga did not say if the DA managed to strike a deal with other opposition parties ahead of the motion of no confidence.

“No, there is no deal. You know when people think that they have won, they make a lot of silly mistakes and then they play themselves.”

A combined vote between the ANC and the EFF could see Msimanga having to vacate his position by end of today.

The ANC and the EFF have a combined 112 votes, with 108 votes required to remove him as mayor.
