Solly Phetoe nominated top job at Cosatu

Cosatu's North West provincial secretary Solly Phetoe was on Monday, nominated to contest the position of the deputy secretary of the federation.
He is contesting with the North West provincial secretary of the Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa’s (Denosa) Oscar Phaka.
Acting secretary Bheki Ntshalintshali was nominated unopposed to fill the position of the federation’s general secretary.
Sidumo Dlamini, Tjotjo James and Zingiswa Losi were also nominated unopposed as president, first deputy president and second deputy president respectively.
The Food and Allied Workers Union and the South African Commercial, Catering and Allied Workers Union (Saccawu) had wanted the nominations for the uncontested position to be opened.
The motions were put aside to allow South African and African National Congress President Jacob Zuma to address the congress.
