Mhlongo was arrested in April and released on bail of R1 500 after Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula opened a case against him at Sandton Police Station.

Mbalula laid the charge after Mhlongo said on Instagram that the minister had given him a heads-up about the extension of the lockdown.

Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in Gauteng Phindi Mjonondwane says the case has been postponed for further investigations.

"And outcome presentation made by his legal team to the NPA.”

Mjonondwane says Mhlongo did not appear in person and a warrant of arrest was issued. However, the warrant will be stayed until his next appearance.

Somizi expected back in court in July

Mbalula laid a charge against Mhlongo in Sandton on Saturday after a video emerged in which the Idols judge could be heard telling radio host Dineo Ranaka that "Fikile" told him the lockdown would be extended. Mhlongo subsequently apologised to Mbalula, who has strenuously denied sharing the information with his celebrity friend.
