The Randburg Magistrate’s Court has postponed the case against media personality Somizi Mhlongo to July 23.
Mhlongo was arrested in April and released on bail of R1 500 after Transport Minister Fikile Mbalula opened a case against him at Sandton Police Station.
Mbalula laid the charge after Mhlongo said on Instagram that the minister had given him a heads-up about the extension of the lockdown.
Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) in Gauteng Phindi Mjonondwane says the case has been postponed for further investigations.
"And outcome presentation made by his legal team to the NPA.”
Mjonondwane says Mhlongo did not appear in person and a warrant of arrest was issued. However, the warrant will be stayed until his next appearance.
