Son charged by KZN police for mother’s murder
Updated | By Princess Mahogo
Police in KwaZulu-Natal are continuing to probe the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman in Verulam, north of Durban.

The woman’s decomposed body was found in an apartment she shared with her son
The son has since been arrested and made his first court appearance in the Verulam Magistrate's Court last week Monday.
The son reportedly lied on several occasions when the landlord asked about his mother's well-being.
KZN police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says the landlord grew suspicious when she did not see the deceased for days.
"On Friday morning, the landlord forced the suspect to open the door, and the decomposing body of his mother was found lying on the bed.
"Circumstances that led to the murder form part of police investigations."
