South Africa ends the week with Covid-19 average increases

The number of new Covid-19 cases recorded on Thursday, shows that the 7 day moving average daily number of cases has increased.

Statistics released by the National Institute of Communicable Disease (NICD) demonstrate that the number of new cases across the country has increased by 13 777.
“The total number of cases today (n=13 777) is higher than yesterday (n=13 263) and higher than the average number of new cases per day over the 7 preceding days (n=10 850),” reads the NICD report.

The increase on Thursday shows a 22.3% positivity rate.
A further 458 new Covid-19 related deaths have also increased, bringing the country’s total fatalities to 73 873.
