Updated | By Neo Motloung
The Pan Africanist Congress of Azania (PAC) confirmed the passing of struggle stalwart Zondeni Veronica Sobukwe.
Sobukwe is the widow of PAC founder Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe.
The PAC's secretary-general Narius Moloto says Zondeni Veronica Sobukwe passed away at her home in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
"She was released from the hospital late yesterday to pass on at 2am in the morning," says Moloto.
Moloto says although the party is saddened by her passing, it is immensely proud of her contribution to the liberation of the people of South Africa.
"She was very selfless in her contribution. She supported Robert Mangaliso Sobukwe through and through during the tribulations."
Moloto says party officials recently visited her at her home and she encouraged the leadership to continue with the spirit of PAC.
