The newly crowned UFC middleweight champion Dricus du Plessis says while he stands by remarka that the South African government is the worst in the world, it is undeniable that South Africans rise above the challenges.

He criticised the government during a YouTube interview with Nina Drama just before his match with American Sean Strickland.
Speaking to the media at O.R Tambo International Airport on Thursday morning, Du Plessis said he stand by his words, but emphasised that South Africans remain positive.
"I am standing by with my comments," he said.
"It is going to be hard to say they are not factual.
"But as South Africans we do are not put down by any of the corruption in South Africa, we focus on the good things and rise above all of these things.
"South Africa is united, look at our sports teams unite South Africa. That is what makes us so special, and the great country in the world."
