South Africans stand behind Caster Semenya
Updated | By JacarandaFM News
South African athlete Caster Semenya will compete in the 800 metre heats at the Rio Olympics on Wednesday afternoon.
She will complete in heat 2 at 16.02pm (11.02am local time).
Semenya has obliterated all opposition before her and is the overwhelming favourite to take gold in the women's 800 metres and possibly shatter the world record.
Semenya made headlines again after international criticism that she not be allowed to compete, because her body produces higher levels of testosterone, but South Africans are rallying behind her to bring back a gold medal.
Here is what some supporters have to say:
Wishing Caster Semenya the best of luck as she races on the track and off the track against racists and stereotypes #rsa
