Soweto man remanded in custody after body parts found in fridge

The accused tried to commit suicide by stabbing himself and was admitted to the hospital.
A 26-year-old man from Protea Glen in Soweto has been remanded in custody after appearing in the Protea Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Flavio Hlabangwane was arrested over the weekend after human body parts were found in his fridge by his girlfriend.
The body parts are yet to be identified.
The accused tried to commit suicide by stabbing himself and was admitted to the hospital.
“The accused is facing a charge of murder and the case relates to the discovery of various female body parts inside a fridge in a room rented by the accused person,” said NPA Gauteng spokesperson Phindi Mjonondwane.
The case has been postponed to 22 November to allow him to apply for legal representation.
