Soweto tavern shooting suspects traced outside SA, Interpol roped in
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
Gauteng Premier David Makhura says they are working with Interpol in an effort to extradite some of the suspects linked to the deadly Soweto tavern shooting.
Makhura says the suspects have been traced to some neighbouring countries.
The shooting in Nomzamo Park, Orlando last month left 16 people dead and several others injured.
Makhura was answering questions in the Gauteng legislature on Tuesday.
"Police have been able to trace some of the suspects, 17 of them. But they have traced others who committed this crime and ran to neighboring countries where they came from.
"Particularly the suspects who committed the shooting in Orlando have been traced to one of the SADC countries. Police are collaborating with authorities in that country to bring those suspects here home to face the might of the law."
